U.S. consultant to give lecture on Renewable Energy
Bridgetown, Barbados, Wednesday, July 01, 2009 – The Embassy of the United States of America to Barbados and the Eastern Caribbean in partnership with the International office of the University of the West Indies and the Barbados Association of Professional Engineers will be presenting a major public lecture on Renewable Energy.
The lecture, which takes place at the 3Ws Pavilion at the University of the West Indies, Cave Hill, on Monday July 6th, 2009 at 5:30p.m., will be delivered by leading U.S. consultant on Renewable Energy J.F. Scarborough.
Mr. Scarborough has spent the majority of his career focused on international business, specializing in economic development, new venture creation and deal structuring in the renewable energy sector. Throughout his career, Mr. Scarborough has managed dozens of successful transactions and client engagements.
At the MAPA Group, Mr. Scarborough works on structuring and developing new business ventures for clients ranging from multi-national corporations to small technology start-ups. Mr. Scarborough leads several client engagements focused on renewable energy, including the North American operations of Spain’s largest solar energy company, the world’s largest renewable energy utility and European investment funds focused on green energy.
Over the past several years, Mr. Scarborough has worked very closely with key stakeholders – states, foreign governments, NGOs, multilateral institutions and private companies – to promote renewable energy as a means for economic development and creation of green jobs. A recognized leader in the solar sector, Mr. Scarborough has spoken publicly at many industry events and actively participates in policy discussions around the U.S. as well as internationally.
