Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship
The Department of State's Public Affairs Section in Bridgetown recruits candidates from the Eastern Caribbean for the Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship. The Fulbright Scholarship gives citizens of the region the opportunity to pursue post-graduate degrees at U.S. universities.
Application forms are available now at: http://www.iie.org/fulbright/apps
Applicants must also submit the following:
(1) Three confidential letters of reference
(2) Transcripts of all post-secondary education
(3) Signature form
(4) Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) scores
(5) Original or certified copies of degrees/diplomas/post-secondary certificates, and
(6) Completed medical examination when requested by the Embassy.
All submitted information must be typed.

The Public Affairs Section interviews top-ranked applicants, and finalists must take the necessary Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT) tests at the earliest possible time. Successful candidates are expected to score 1,000 or above on the GRE combined quantitative and verbal sections, and 3.5 or better on the analytical writing section; or 600 or above on the GMAT.
The Public Affairs Section recruits candidates in most fields. Competition is very keen. Preference will be given to candidates who:
-
have outstanding academic records (1st. Class, or Upper 2nd Class Honours degrees) plus experience in their chosen fields.
-
have not previously studied in the U.S. Individuals now studying in the U.S. are not eligible.
-
are seeking a master's degree. Ph.D. Candidates must already have a master's degree in their chosen field.
-
are highly motivated and show exceptional promise of making significant contributions in their field in their home countries.
Applications from citizens or permanent residents (green card holders) of the United States cannot be considered for the Fulbright Foreign Student Scholarship.
